Family Traditions

G's family has a different Thanksgiving tradition. They don't eat turkey for their Thanksgiving meal...they all get together and make pastry meat pies. They contain potatoe, onion, ground beef and pork. I don't know how to spell it, so I'll use phonics. It's called "Past tee"
AH loved it, but she kept telling everyone she was making pizza :)

Here is what "past-tee" looks like...I'm trying to embrace this tradition :)

Nathan's family also makes pasties! But not for Thanksgiving. Those things are so good...mmmm. They're really good if the meat inside is lamb. Rutabagas also help!

Ooh, yummy. I want to make something a little non-traditional when my family visits for Christmas. Could you post or e-mail the recipe?
